Christofer Hierold’s  research is focused on advanced microsystems, the evaluation of new materials for MEMS, and on ultra-low power sensors and systems. We contribute to XSense2 by the development of a novel MEMS acoustic trigger, which mechanically amplifies acoustic events in the rocks with nearly no electrical power consumption, and thus triggers event-driven high resolution, but power hungry sensor systems.
